Voghera Italy

Voghera, which is currently the main economic center of the area south of the Po River in the Province of Pavia (called Oltrepo pavese), flourished, from an artistic point of view, during the 17th and 18th centuries, under the impulse of the Visconti and of the Savoy. From this period remain the Cathedral from the 17th century (with a medieval bell and a 19th century façade), the Red Church (Chiesa Rossa) from the Romanesque period (12th century). The old 14th century Castle is currently home to a small museum.
