FLY & DRIVE: Campania

Arrival at Naples Airport. Arrival and check-in at the hotel in Naples. In the afternoon transfer on your own by car to the Campi Flegrei volcanic area - the kingdom of volcanoes where there is one of the most interesting among the 40 ancient volcanoes - Volcano Solfatara, an active crater called “the gates of hell.” The walk on the Solfatara is an unforgettable experience. Then visit the other attractions of the city: the Flavian Amphitheatre, one of the largest in Europe and visit to the Temple of Serapis. Return to Naples. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning view of the historic centre of Naples: Duomo, San Lorenzo Maggiore, Via San Gregorio Armeno, famous for pastors, San Severo Chapel, San Domenico Maggiore, Santa Chiara with the Majolica Cloister and the church of Gesù Nuovo. Walk from Piazza Municipio to Piazza Plebiscito, with external visit of he Angevin, the San Carlo theatre, the Royal Palace and the Galleria Umberto I. In the afternoon, Molo Beverello, scenic ride by car to the Riviera di Chiaia , the promenade of Mergellina, the Santa Lucia district, with fi shing village and Castel dell’Ovo, to the hills of Posillipo, from where you can admire the Gulf of Naples. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at your hotel accommodation.  

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car for the discovery of the volcano crater. Vesuvius, the only active volcano in continental Europe entirely, with splendid panoramic views across the Gulf of Naples it is possible to reach up to 1000 metres by bus. Then continue by foot to the crater for the visit with mountain guides. Later, departure and visit to the unusual Pompei. It will visit the Forum, the Temple of Apollo, the House of the Faun, the House of the Tragic Poet which houses the famous mosaic Cave Canem and other fi ne wall paintings, the Grand Theatre, the Amphitheatre and Villa of the Mysteries - the lavish building better preserved. In the evening, return to Naples. Dinner on your own and over night stay at your hotel accommodation.

A day to remember, entirely dedicated to the visit of Capri, an island rich in natural, scenic, historical beauty and with many worldly activities that captivate all its visitors. Starts from the port of Naples by hydrofoil ferry. Upon arrival in Capri (Marina Grande) direction Anacapri by minibus for the visit to Villa San Michele of Dr. Axel Munthe, the famous Swedish writer whose best-seller was the book “The History of San Michele" which illustrates the author in Capri and describes its wonderful beauties. After free time in Anacapri for lunch, drive towards the center of Capri to visit the Gardens of Augusto, from where you can admire the famous cliffs and the Marina Piccola, Grace's last residence Fields. Then it will be time to go shopping and reaching the famous squares, a symbol of the elegant and prestigious Capri. Return to the port and back to Naples. Dinner on your own and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car for the Amalfi Coast. Visit Positano, walk to the centre and visit the historic church of Santa Maria Assunta of Amalfi with the tenth century Duomo, Cloister of Paradise. Arrival in Amalfi , after lunch visit of the picturesque village on the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi was the oldest of the four Maritime Republics; it touched its economic and commercial zenith in the eleventh century. 0A.D. from that period is the magnifi cent cathedral in SITL Sicilian - Norman dedicated to St. Andrew, the Cloister of Paradise and the arsenals, where the galleys and boats were built. In the evening, return to Naples. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at your hotel accommodation. 

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own by car to Caserta and visit to the charming Royal Palace, Reggia di Caserta, former residence of the royal kingdoms of the Two Sicilies. Gilding, frescoes, marbles, precious silks, crystal chandeliers and paintings by great masters can be seen in every corner of the huge room. A large garden with waterfalls, beautiful sculptures and water tanks are an additional attraction. The Palace with the Park, Vanvitelli’s Aqueduct and the San Leucio Complex are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later, transfer to Caserta Vecchia, a mediaeval city. Walk through the narrow streets and visit to the beautiful cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel with the famous bell tower and the castle. In the evening, return to Naples.
